INDIANAPOLIS – Publicly available campaign finance reports released today reveal that independent Secretary of State candidate Greg Ballard outraised Democrat Beau Bayh and Republican Max Engling in the most recent reporting period.
Between April 1 and May 31, Ballard raised a total of $671,819.41, compared with Bayh's $557,972.98. Engling netted $202,745.23 while Libertarian Lauri Shillings reported $10,766.89.
Ballard's total includes both his Q2 report for the period of 5/16 through 6/30 ($509,207.19) as well as his outgoing treasurer's report and related amendments for the period of 4/1 through 5/15 ($162,612.22).
Ballard announced his intent to run for Secretary of State on March 4 and raised $204,447.92 that month. Unlike Bayh and Engling, Ballard's campaign has not employed a fundraiser or fundraising consultant.
